2027 Promises To Be Exciting Year For Zero Motorcycles
Zero Motorcycles has unveiled its 2027 lineup, and while at first glance it appears to be just trim changes, the biggest news will start reaching dealers sometime during calendar year 2027.
Of course, I’m talking about DC fast charging—and more on that in a moment. But first, here are the highlights of the 2027 Zero model rollouts.

As Zero celebrates its 20th anniversary model year, it is also debuting an extremely limited-edition SR/F, with just 20 examples made for the US and 20 made for Europe.
These black-and-gold SR/Fs will feature front and rear carbon fiber fenders, smoked LED turn signals, black headlight wings, and a black aluminum flyscreen. Other premium bits include black billet mirrors, bar ends, a billet lever protector, and billet front and rear brake reservoir caps.
20th-anniversary graphics and detailing, along with a few other farkles, are also included. However, from a tech perspective, the 20th Anniversary Edition appears to be fitted with the same battery, motor, and suspension setup. Special edition pricing wasn’t immediately announced, but the regular SR/F starts just under $20,000. Zero’s model lineup remains the same, with just a few trim modifications. My personal favorite for 2027 is the Riviera Cyan color for the SR/S.

Technical specs also appear to be unchanged for the first half of the 2027 model year. But that’s okay, because earlier Zero announced what fans have been begging for: DC fast charging is finally coming to the S and DS lines of high-end Zeros, likely as an option.
Zero Motorcycles Adds DC Charging Option In 2027
Zero has confirmed it is adding available CCS charging, probably in late 2027. Better yet, you’ll be able to retrofit your Zero dating back to 2022—just as you can with Zero’s current AC 12.6 kW Rapid Charger.
Although technical details haven’t been announced yet, it is widely expected that the new DC fast-charging module will occupy the same frunk space as the existing optional Rapid Charger.
For now, it also appears that here in the US you will need to carry NACS adapters unless Zero changes direction and switches to the new NACS standard at the last minute.
Although Zero hasn’t announced a peak charging speed for the upcoming DC fast charger yet, it has stated it will charge from 20% to 80% in 30 minutes.
Given that current Zeros have air-cooled batteries and a nominal voltage of approximately 102 volts, I’m guessing the peak speed probably won’t exceed 20 kW, if that. But in my opinion, that’s okay. It’s more about having additional charging flexibility than raw speed.
