That’s why we created the EV Rider podcast on YouTube Music. Now you can listen while you’re bicycling, walking, running, driving or even swimming.
On a smartphone you can still see the video but you can also turn off the screen and just put your phone away and the episode will continue as audio. YouTube Music is available in the Apple and Google app stores and also works with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and is natively available on Tesla infotainment systems starting with the 2024.26.3 software update.
For anyone with data limits on their smartphones, don’t worry. YouTube Music automatically stops streaming the video track and drops bandwidth usage to audio-only levels when the screen is turned off.
You can also get EV Rider on any smartwatch that supports YouTube Music such as Apple, Garmin, Samsung, Pixel and One Plus watches. Check your smartwatch’s app store.

Q: How do I watch or listen on YouTube music?
A: TOUCH THIS LINK and select Save to Library. If you don’t have the app, install YouTube Music from the Apple or Android app store, then TOUCH THIS LINK and select Save To Library. You can also try searching “@evrider” or “EV Rider” from YouTube Music to save it to your library, although YouTube Music search can sometimes be finicky. If search doesn’t bring it up you can also scan the QR at the top or bottom of this page.
Q: Can I listen to EV Rider my car?
A: Yes! Android Auto and Apple Car Play support YouTube Music. Cars that use the Android Automotive system (GM, Volvo, etc.) also support YouTube Music. So does Tesla’s infotainment system. If you have a car that doesn’t directly support YouTube Music you can still stream EV Rider to your radio or infotainment system from your smartphone via Bluetooth or an audio connection. Save EV Rider to your library on your smartphone for quick access in the car.
Q: Can I download the podcasts for later offline viewing or listening?
A: Yes!
Q: Can I listen or watch EV Rider on other podcasting platforms such as Spotify, Apple Podcasts, etc.?
A: No. YouTube Music does not allow podcasters to share content hosted by YouTube with other podcasting platforms.
Q: Why?
A: Major podcasting platforms such as YouTube Music and Spotify are trying to keep audiences on their native platforms, while traditional podcasters and hosting services encouraged distribution across competing services with RSS feeds. Since EV Rider’s library of content is hosted and monetized on YouTube it is currently financially impractical to make an RSS feed available since a second copy of every episode would have to uploaded to a separate company’s server, which would require additional work and expense.
Q: Are podcasts on YouTube Music free?
A: Yes, but it may depend on the platform you’re using. For example it’s been confirmed as free on Android smartphones, Android Auto and Wear OS smartwatches, but some platforms may require YouTube Music’s premium service. Check your preferred platform for details.
